Chiron Discovery Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 4, 2026
Chiron Discovery (“we,” “our” or “us”) is committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and safeguard personal information when you visit chirondiscovery.com (the “Site”), request access to our platform, apply for a job with us, or otherwise interact with us online or offline (collectively, the “Services”).
Updates to this Privacy Policy. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the “Last updated” date above. Where required by law, we will notify you of material changes by other means.
1. Personal information we collect
Information you provide to us
- Contact and access requests. When you fill out our access form or contact us, we collect your name, email address, organization name, organization website, organization type and size, and any information you choose to share about how you plan to use the platform.
- Job applications. When you apply for a role, we collect the information you send us, such as your CV or résumé, cover letter, work history, education, links to your work and any other information you provide during the recruitment process.
- Communications. We, and our service providers, collect the content of messages you send us, such as emails and inquiries.
Information collected automatically
- Device information, such as IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, language settings and approximate location derived from your IP address.
- Usage data, such as pages visited, links clicked, referring pages, and the dates and times of your visits.
- Cookies and similar technologies. See “Cookies and analytics” below.
Information from other sources
We may receive professional information about you from publicly available sources (such as professional networking sites or publications), from recruiters, or from people who refer you to us.
2. Neural and health data
Our research uses neural recording and health datasets made available by third-party resources such as public research archives and research partners. We access these datasets under their own access terms and governance processes, and we work with de-identified or summary-level data. We do not attempt to re-identify any individual.
The Site does not ask for, and you should not submit, neural, health or medical information about yourself or any other individual. Data that platform customers upload under a separate agreement (“Customer Data”) is processed on the customer’s instructions and governed by that agreement, not by this Privacy Policy.
3. How we use personal information
- To respond to your inquiries and access requests, and to schedule calls.
- To provide, operate, maintain and improve the Site and our Services.
- To evaluate job applications and manage our recruitment process.
- To send you updates about Chiron, where you have asked to receive them or where permitted by law. You can opt out at any time.
- To understand how the Site is used and to keep it secure.
- To comply with legal obligations, enforce our terms, and protect the rights, property and safety of Chiron Discovery, our users and others.
4. Legal bases for processing
Where the EU or UK General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) applies, we process personal information on the following legal bases: to take steps at your request before entering into a contract (for example, responding to an access request); our legitimate interests in running and improving our business, recruiting, and keeping the Services secure, where those interests are not overridden by your rights; compliance with our legal obligations; and your consent, where we ask for it (for example, for non-essential cookies). You may withdraw consent at any time.
5. How we disclose personal information
We do not sell personal information. We disclose it only as follows:
- Service providers who host the Site, provide email, form handling, analytics, applicant tracking and other services on our behalf, under contracts that limit their use of the data.
- Professional advisors, such as lawyers, auditors and insurers.
- Legal and safety: where required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, property or safety of Chiron Discovery or others.
- Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization or sale of assets, subject to standard confidentiality protections.
- With your consent or at your direction.
6. Cookies and analytics
We use strictly necessary cookies to operate the Site. We do not currently use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. When you first visit, a banner asks whether you accept or reject optional cookies; we store that choice in your browser and will not set optional cookies unless you accept. You can change your choice at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser. If we start using optional cookies, we will update this section to name the provider and explain your choices. You can control cookies through your browser settings; blocking some cookies may affect how the Site works. Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” signal; we honor Global Privacy Control signals where required by law.
7. International transfers
We and our service providers may process personal information in countries other than the one where you live. Where we transfer personal information out of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or the UK International Data Transfer Addendum.
8. Data retention
We keep personal information only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to meet legal, accounting or reporting requirements. Access-request and contact information is kept while we have an active relationship with you or your organization. Applicant information is kept only for as long as needed to run the recruitment process and for a reasonable period afterward in case the role reopens, unless you ask us to delete it sooner or you join us.
9. Security
We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit, access controls and least-privilege access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information; to restrict or object to certain processing; to withdraw consent; and to opt out of marketing communications. California residents have the rights described in the California Consumer Privacy Act, including the right to know, delete and correct personal information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under California law.
To exercise any of these rights, email privacy@chirondiscovery.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. If you are in the EEA or UK, you also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
11. Children
The Services are not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.
12. Third-party links
The Site links to third-party websites, such as publications and open data resources. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.
